Lil Wayne & Young Money Gear Up For New Albums

Although Lil Wayne is still locked up in Rikers, it's not stopping his camp, Young Money, from putting out music.

Fans of Lil Wayne can expect a new album dropping on the rapper's birthday, September 27. His manager Cortez Bryant says, "I'm putting out a [Wayne EP] called "I'm Not a Human Being." The project won't be released in stores.  But will be available online.
 
Young Money artist Shanell is preparing for her first album. She recently released a mixtape called "Shut Up N Listen" in April. The project is slated for release sometime next spring or summer. In the meantime, Shanell will be releasing a few videos from some songs on her mixtape.
 
Nicki Minaj's debut album is set for release in late November. The self-proclaimed "Barbie" has the top song on the Billboard charts, the first time by a female rapper in eight years.  She's currently   editing with director Hype Williams a video for her single, "Your Love."
 
Clearly, Young Money is trying to take over hip-hop by flooding the market with their music.  This technique is very similar to Wu-Tang Clan, who released one group album and then individual projects from each member.
