Jay-Z, Eminem, Beyonce, Kanye, Nicki Minaj, & More Go "Home To Home" At Yankee Stadium

Jay-Z and Eminem ran New York last night as they performed the first ever concert at the new Yankee Stadium.  Second show goes down tonight.  Last night's sold-out crowd was treated to the "Home To Home" tour with surprise appearances from Kanye, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Swizzy, and 50 Cent.

 

This time paired with a cheetah print tee.  And only 'Ye could get away with it.  Loves it.

Big Brother and Little Brother time.

Jay brought Drake on stage to perform.

As well as Swizzy of course.

And his bestie Chris Martin of Coldplay.

Then over at the afterparty at the 40/40 club:

GTFOH: Oprah's Sending Her Entire Studio Audience To Australia...With Pilot John Travolta!

Cars for everyone in the audience is so 2009.  That's why Lady O gifted her entire audience today--made up of her "ultimate fans"-- with a trip to Australia.  Yes, a trip....a 10-day trip!   And none other than her bestie John Travolta, who is a pilot in his downtime from being an A-list actor, will be flying the plane.
In total, about 300 people will be going.  And that's not all.  Just in case those 300 people want to call their friends and fam back home during the trip to make the even more jealous, she gave each audience member a Motorola Smart phone.  She also announced that she will be taping a show at the Sydney Opera House with Australia’s biggest fans.
Like, honestly, what do her planning meetings for each show look like?  Could you imagine what all the other options were?  Damn!
If you weren't fightin' and scrappin' for tix to one of her shows before during O's farewell season, now is the time to start....

How important is Fashion to you ? Has it been the case since you were a child?
Solange Knowles : Fashion is just another extension of expression. Since I was a little girl, I have always taken some kind of pride in that expression.

How do you judge your style's evolution ? Does it match with your artistic & musical evolution?
From 17 to until maybe 20 , I became a mom, I was in Idaho, was a stay at home mother, and my style was very very basic, I just didn't have the time for the looks. At the time, at the point where I was in my relationship, I sort of lost a sense of myself. I look back at those outfits and I'm like, who is this? Maybe I was trying to become who my husband was attracted to or I tried to be like what a mom should look like.
Then I got back to the music, got out of the relationship, and started to be drawn to this influence again. It was all about that 60's Pop culture, paired it with a very comfy hat or a fun pattern. But I still hadn't grasp the sense of mixing.
Over the past 2 years, it ( my style ) had definitely followed my music, which is a mix of great 70's and 80's sounds. There are definitely some influences there. But I also started to listen to a lot of great afro beat music, and discovered amazing things that you can do for example with ankara, and mixing it up with mainstream pieces.
There are so many great designers who just do this. I've been introduced to them, and I'm getting deeper and deeper into this.

You, as well as Kelis or Janelle Monae, are some kind of free agents regarding the mainstream industry . Do you think this difference can become a burden? If yes, in which way?
It is all a matter of what you want out of your career. And for me, it is truly my goal to make and create things that I'm passionate about.
Living in a city like Los Angeles , you start to see so many people, who become victims, chasing fame and loosing sight of true things.
I want a comfortable life, I want my son to go to a great school, I want to be able to travel - Travelling is the greatest pleasure to me - I want to eat good. But there is a way to do that. Absolutely. And without having to do certain things that I have no taste for...

FASHION FAB: VMA's BEST DRESSED

We've rounded up our top 3 fave looks of the YBF attendees of the night.  And for this type of occasion, the more details, the more uniqueness, the better.  Read on to find out who these three YBF folks were rocking head to toe at last night's MTV VMAs...

Feathers, lace, and skin were all the rage on last night's white carpet.  And we adored Ciara's head to toe Givenchy look.  Being the face of the label has indeed paid off.  This dress, complete with a sheer black lace bodice with just enough coverage for a sexy amount of peek-a-boo, is part of the Fall 2010 Givenchy Couture collection.  Gorgeous black and gray and nude feathers completed the high slit bottom half.
And she topped off her embellished looked with wrist and finger candy, and nude Givenchy platforms.  Gorgeous look.

Drake held it down for the fellas in head to toe Tom Ford.  It's hard to Ef up a Tom Ford suit, and Drake rocked it extremely well.  Sleek all black color, great cut, and a bit of pop with the black embroidered button down underneath.
He topped off the look with black, red, and purple accented Tom Ford shoes that def worked for the occasion.

And model/actress Eva Marcille lit up the white carpet with this multicolored sequined metallic dress by Shane Peacock.  The colors, the glitz, the extra glitz on her ears and fingers, white nails, and sickeningly perfect skin all made this look one of our faves.
She took her bold look one step further with her bleached blonde coif, and these uber hot metallic blue Versace platform pumps (which were also worn by Nicki Minaj last night).  Loves it all.

Drake ft. Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beatz performing "Fancy".  Another great performance.

hit the outside stage to perform their new single 'Hot 'N Fun' on a crazy set.


Eminem performed "Not Afraid" following up with a surprise appearance from Rihanna where they performed "Love The Way You Lie."
