For this upcoming season, Kobe Bryant and Nike Sportswear have aligned to create ah comprehensive footwear and apparel capsule. Leading the way for apparel is a special rendition of Nike’s Destroyer varsity jacket program. Created in a simple and effective black and white color scheme, the jacket includes various nods to Kobe Bryant’s personality and background. The one sleeve includes patches which form the word BATTLE while the chest and opposite sleeve feature further adornments. The back includes Kobe Bryant’s #24 in roman numerals. Look for the jacket at select retailers across the world.

COMME des GARCONS Homme Plus 2011 Spring/Summer New Releases

COMME des GARCONS Homme Plus has now started to release items from its spring/summer collection for this year. Working with stripes and skull motifs, each garment sticks to a black and white palette. As you can see the selection opens with a handful of long-sleeved T-shirts cut to achieve a relaxed fit. Priced at $2,450 HKD (approx. $315 USD), each tee pictured is now available from I.T and COMME des GARCONS locations.

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme “Year of the Rabbit” Further Look

Following up on our recent coverage of this year’s 2011 Year of the Rabbit Air Force 1 Supreme comes a more in-depth look into the commemorative sneaker. A look at the exclusive packaging links some of the design executions with the inspirations for the sneaker. Together with an interesting material contrast, candy shaped packaging and printed packaging paper, this all makes for one of the more memorable Year of the… releases over the course of the sneaker’s last few releases.
The Nike Air Force 1 Supreme “Year of the Rabbit” will release with the special packaging seen here on January 23, 2011 with a suggested retail price of ¥2,599 RMB (approximately $393 USD). In addition to showcasing the highlight of this year, a retrospective exhibition involving all the previous Year of the… sneakers was also put on display at the recent Nike Sportswear Spring/Summer 2011 exhibition in Shanghai.

Kobe Bryant x Nike Sportswear Air Force 1 Foamposite “Eggplant”

Following up on two successful launches of the Nike Sportswear Air Force 1 Foamposite, the revolutionary Air Force 1 hybrid is slated for an upcoming release in partnership with Kobe Bryant. The high top sneaker features the same familiar one piece molded upper made of Nike’s supportive yet malleable synthetic material. References to Kobe Bryant can be seen on the specialty logo on the tongue as well as his signature visible through the outsole. Other interesting elements include a subtle black 3M support strap. The color captures the same essence as one of the most popular original Foamposite colorways dubbed the Eggplants. A release is slated is for February 1 through the China market however dates will vary from region to region.

Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low

Kobe Bryant puts his name to two Air Force 1s this season. Among them is this Air Force 1 Low. Created in the likeness of some of his previous signature models, the sneaker features a black base with purple details and a seamless molded upper.Bryant’s logo is applied to a woven tag seen on the tongue as his trademark Mamba nickname also earns a spot on the sneaker thanks to the use of snakeskin on the heel. This season’s Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low will see a release sometime next month with the shoe hitting some markets on February 1, 2011.

Nike Sportswear NSW 2011 Spring/Summer Collection Preview

Each season, Nike Sportswear’s NSW apparel line has pushed the boundaries of fashion and technology. Putting together a strong roster of innovative production techniques in a fashion forward approach has been one of the collection’s greatest strengths. As we set our eyes on Spring/Summer 2011, some of the outerwear pieces are highlighted. There’s no doubt the stadium jacket has been a strong component of the brand’s identity as NSW re-appropriate the sports-centric style. Continuing to focus on Ann Demeulemeester’s spring/summer 2011 black and white theme are these sky-top sneakers. Fastened by several chunky, Velcro openings, the models enjoy a slim silhouette that could be worked to complement formal or casual wear. Mister x Imperium x Dearly Departed “Finisher” Jacket

San Francisco-based Mister presents a new satin jacket commemorating the brand’s first anniversary. Produced alongside Imperium and Dearly Departed, the jacket pays homage to throwback sportswear jackets of the past, produced with more of a leaner contemporary fit as opposed to the wider, cropped look associated with vintage pieces. The jacket features a mostly toned down design aesthetic, with an all-black tonal colorway, three-stripe sleeve design, triple star chenille embroidery and charcoal grey lining/accenting. The piece is now available through INVS, priced at $90 USD.

MYKITA Tokyo Store Opening

Following a Zurich store opening in early 2010, Berlin-based MYKITA continue their retail ventures with a new retail spot in Tokyo. Tucked away in the fashion mecca known as Harajuku, the store is housed in the basement portion of a two-story building stocked with the brand’s fine goods, including prescription spectacles and limited edition eyewear styles. The newly opened space can be found at 5-11-6-b1 Jingumae (Harajuku).

Nike Zoom Match Classic

Continuing their awakening of classic silhouettes, Nike brings back the Zoom Match Classic for their upcoming Spring 2011 drop. Maintaining the nuances of the original designs, the reissues keep with the minimal branding while adding the Zoom Air pockets for increased comfort. Look for the shoes to arrive in stores early next month, including Crooked Tongues.

Nike 2011 Spring Air Trainer 1

Having been given a back seat to a wave of technical trainers, the Nike Air Trainer 1 has resurfaced in two new colorways for the Spring 2011 season. Featuring a predominantly leather construction the shoes are offered in black and hot lime with a mesh toe box and collar, as well as a white and grey model featuring a perforated leather toe box and subtle royal blue accents. Seeing a Euro-exclusive release, the shoes are available through select overseas accounts including Schuh-You.

Vans Syndicate x Tommy Guerrero Collection

Yet again, the Vans Syndicate team has added another rung to their series of impressive collaborative efforts. This time around working with American skateboarding legend and musician Tommy Guerrero, the partnership sees a reworking of Old Skool and Slip-On versions of the Decon S silhouette. Offered in monochromatic black, the shoes feature a premium perforated leather upper and subtle white stitching along the panels for a rather refined feel and look. Not for online sale, the shoes are available in a limited release through select Vans Syndicate accounts, including Premier.

Nixon The Chronicle Watch

Nixon recently launched their latest model, The Chronicle. Available in five new colorways, each version features a custom solid stainless steel band, equipped with a double-locking clasp for a secured fit. The Chronicle’s case also utilizes a custom stainless steel and adds a hardened mineral crystal. The display is restrained and in typical analogue format but with the addition of a date magnifier for clarity. The water resistance of The Chronicle makes it ideal for snorkeling, surfing and for the more adventurous spear fishing. Look out for all five colors via Nixon retailers and online.

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme “Year of the Rabbit”

Enjoying its 10th installment and in association with the 2011 Chinese Lunar New Year, Nike Sportswear celebrate the occasion with a Nike Air Force 1 Supreme. With the Year of the Rabbit theme, the legendary Air Force 1 incorporates Chinese sensibilities with a white, varsity royal and crimson colored upper.
The design itself incorporates a special and innovative midsole with a material grain contrast between the different upper panels. The Year of the Rabbit Air Force 1 will first release in a limited edition packaging set for January 23, 2011. With it will come a suggested retail price of ¥2,599 RMB (approximately $393 USD). Less than a week later, a version with regular packaging will release for ¥1,999 RMB (approximately $302 USD) on January 28, 2011.

Retailers will include the following for the China exclusive: Nike Beijing Store, Nike Sanlitun Store, Nike Beijing Oriental Plaza Store, Beijing Deal, Nike Shanghai Store, Shanghai Juice and Shanghai NPC.

Vans OTW Woessner Black/White

Premier takes stock of this new colorway in Vans’ Woessner, a new silhouette part of the popular OTW line. The shoes feature a sleek, low profile design with seamless black nubuck uppers and white accents coming via the midsoles. Nike Air Max Liquid Racer Tech Grey

Here’s another sneaker for the day that incorporates the use of purple and mandarin, although these take on a mostly grey upper with white midsoles adding the perfect bit of contrast. Reminiscent of a familiar color scheme seen on the ACG Air Max 1, this latest version of Nike’s Liquid Racer captures that 90s-esque color combo with nylon and leather holding court.
