My blog is partly about promo, from new artists & DJ's trying to leave foot prints that people will recognize when it comes to the entertainment indusry to the artists that make the music we bump to everyday...at this point, i would like to introduce someone to the world...so world meet JUWON SIMMONS and Juwon simmons say hello to the world. I first heard about Juwon through a mutual friend who posted his myspace page on my facebook wall and i must say, the kid got talent. I have been told he recently released a mixtape, havent listened to it myself, but from the tracks he got on his myspace page, it seems promising so CHECK HIM OUT!...last but not least, on behalf of that mutual friend (Pamela C. Hin. MTV News Names Kanye West And Lady Gaga Their "People Of The Year"

Having dominated both the music charts and gossip columns for the past year, MTV News has named Kanye West "Man of the Year" for 2010 and Lady GaGa "Woman of the Year."  Deets inside...

Kanye West has been named MTV News "Man of the Year." After recovering from the Swiftgate incident, and a self-imposed hiatus, Kanye's triumphant comeback made him bigger than ever. With a hit album in My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye stayed true to the crazy ego maniac artist we have all come to love/hate or respect/loathe.

And his Twitter rants and antics didn't hurt either I'm sure.

He is joined by Lady Gaga who didn't release an album this year but managed to stay on everyone's mind by constantly touring and rocking outrageous outfits at every music award show she attended.  There are even college courses being taught about her rise to "fame."

Pretty Boy Floyd ARRESTED!

Even though he was well aware a warrant was out for his arrest, Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather took his riches to a casino in Vegas last night to hit the slots and tables.  A security guard recognized him and called for back-up.

TMZ reports that Floyd Mayweather is still in custody after getting arrested last night.  The boxer allegedly punched out a security guard recently who was patrolling his neighborhood.
If Floyd gets convicted of battery and whatever else he's charged with, he faces up to 6 months in prison.  You couldn't tell by his toothy smile in his brand new mugshot.  WOMP.
*UPDATE* He was picked up in his Rolls Royce this afternoon upon his jail release.  No bail was set.

Shots Being Fired At Nicki Minaj's Barbie World By Lil Kim & Nicki's Former Manager

 
Well it seems like Nicki Minaj is not very popular amongst some people these days. Nicki's former manager--Waka Flacka's mom Deb Antney--sat down with VIBE.com to discuss what she thought of the Harijuku Barbie's album. And her comments weren't very nice. Meanwhile Lil Kim sat down with Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez on Friday, and took the opportunity to throw a few more jabs towards her rap adversary.  Read on to hear both interviews....
Nicki Minaj's former manager Deb Antney, who also happens to be Waka Flocka's mother, is disappointed in the direction that Nicki has chosen to go with her music and she wasted no time expressng it in her new VIBE.com interview:

Its's terrible. I like some stuff, but she went too left. I don't think people were ready for her to come [out with pop]. When I had Nicki, I really wanted her to sing. That's why I took her for training cause Nicki loves singing, but she kept saying to me, 'Deb, I can't do it yet because people won't understand.' And that's why the [rap] mixture was done to introduce them to all of Nicki. I think [Pink Friday] was very disappointing to a lot of her fans. She didn't need a lot of [the] features. That was one of the biggest things like... you gave people so many features, give them you now. Nicki could be so much better because—outside of anything that people say—she's very multi-talented. I really wish that she would learn to be more of an artist.
I didn't particularly care for ["Roman's Revenge"], but when Eminem came in I liked it. He made the song. [Nicki] didn't have to go there with [Lil' Kim]. My views on that is that she came too far to go back that route.

Are these harsh words of criticism being spewed because Nicki fired Deb back in April then rose to success on the charts right after or was Pink Friday really "terrible." I mean, I for damn sure aint the biggest Nicki Barb out there, but Deb can't seriously think her son, Waka Flocka is really putting out quality music either. Maybe she needs to worry about her son's recent arrest. But I digress.
Lil Kim is making her media rounds dissing Nicki Minaj as usual. Yesterday she hit up the Angie Martinez show to discuss their ongoing beef. She admits that when Nicki first hit the scene, she saw it as a great oppurtunity to get back into the game.

“I looked at her buzz as a way for me to kind of come back in. As a businesswoman it will be good for people to see me with her… In my eyes I needed that exposure.”

But all that changed when, according to Kim, Nicki started taking subliminal shots at her. I'm starting to get tired of this "he said, she said" bs. Produce the tapes and fight it out or shut it.  Anyways, peep the vid of Lil Kim on the Angie Martinez show:

Well there you have it. Kim is not letting go of the beef anytime soon. She did make some interesting points though.

Gucci Mane Released + Floyd Mayweather Warrant Re-issued

Rapper Gucci Mane has been released from jail.  Also, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. stemming from that recent battery charge for striking a security guard.  Deets inside...

Gucci Mane has been released following a raid on the home of fellow rapper Wacka Flocka Flame in Georgia.  Gucci was held by the cops on Thursday morning while Wacka's house was searched for drugs and illegal weapons.
Although Gucci was later released, two others, including the brother of Kanye West's "See Me Now" co-producer Lex Luger, were arrested and charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
During the raid, cops confiscated a Kel-Tech .223 caliber sub gun, and a Taurus .40 caliber semi-automatic—as well as prescription drugs from his house.  The raid really P.O.ed Wacka's mom Debra Antney who told Global Grind,

 "...they just locked up Lex Luger's little brother, because he had a little joint or something, so they took him. They're just trying to find anything that they could find, they cut that boy's closet up. This is crazy! Because there's nothing in there, and it doesn't make sense for them to do this." 
She continued,
"...just because he's Waka Flocka and people stereotype him already, or Gucci, he's gotta be doing something wrong. They messed up now when they turned me into the candy lady, they got a problem now. You can't do that, that is defamation of character, you're not going to do that to me."

Lucky for him, Wacka, real name Juaquin Malphurs, was not home at the time of the raid.  I wonder if he's hiding from the po pos....

In other arrest news,

A Las Vegas judge has issued a warrant for Floyd Mayweather Jr's arrest for the SECOND time, based on a incident where he laid hands on a a security guard during a parking dispute.  Floyd is accused of acting a fool after receiving two parking tickets outside of his own home in Vegas.
The judge who originally issued the warrant recalled it on Dec. 7.  But after a hearing where he was accused of giving Floyd the celebrity treatment - he reissued the warrant.
Floyd now faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.
