DMX Lands In Prison...Again!

Darkman X is in prison once again. The rapper violated his probation in Phoenix by not checking in with his probation officer.  DMX was arrested about a month ago for this infraction. And now, DMX has been sentenced to a year.
X has been out on parole since 2009. We have no more words...

UPDATE: Gucci's manager/Waka's mom just spoke with Global Grind about what really went down....

A group of police raided Waka Flocka's home in Henry County Georgia today. Waka's mom/manager says that the police were looking for evidence of drugs, gang involvement, and possible prostitution. Police found marijuana and guns in the rapper's home.
Gucci Mane was taken away in cuffs from the home. Neighbors say that four cops cars are still outside the rapper's home. Waka's mom says that if her son doesn't return home soon the police will issue an arrest warrant.
Damn homie SMH. I'm not even surprised. I wonder if this video of Waka and Wiz smoking weed on camera had anything to do with it?

UPDATE: Waka's mom, Debra Antney, says that police are just trying to find evidence against her, her son, and Gucci. She said,

"I don't sell drugs and I'm not a gang banger. I'm not gonna have them go through that, not none of them boys - because most of them boys are trying to get their lives together. They are trying to find gang-afilliated stuff that they can't find. They're trying to call our company gangs, like we're all gangs - even me. Officers just called me the Candy Lady, they wouldn't let me leave, I was the one who was really locked in there who they had. They called me the Candy Lady they said I'm the one that's running the whole thing or whatever."

Antney also says that this another case of police harassing rappers saying, "we go through this because they're black, for one, so they can't be doing anything. The police aren't finding gang stuff - there is no gang stuff... this is what happens when people want to become celebrities themselves"
Brick Squad also has a concert planned to help kids get toys for Christmas. Antney is also worried that the raid will delay the concert. She said,

"I want yall to know that the stuff that's really bad is that those boys were getting ready tonight to do a big concert to raise toys for needy children. We have a huge event that's about to come up, and we don't need to go through this kind of stuff. They're really trying to help people, but you can't do anything when people keep with these rumors and stuff that they say. One person says something and everybody runs with it, and thats the person that you have to become."

Interesting. I still think that police were probably justified in the raid.

Aretha Franklin Home After Surgery

The Queen of Soul is home after surgery. We've got the deets when you read on...

We told you earlier that Aretha Franklin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Now we can report the queen underwent a "highly successful" surgery in a Detroit hospital. Aretha released a statement shortly after saying,

"I've been at home for almost three days now, my family and friends who brought me home are taking great care of me. I also have a private nurse who visits on a daily basis. I'm hoping to be strong enough to go out and see the upcoming Sam Cooke play at the Music Hall in downtown Detroit before Jan. 2, as well as a performance of 'Dreamgirls' at the FOX before it closes,"

Let's hope the Queen gets better soon.

For their January 2011 issue, Black Enterprise mag has “The Many Faces of 50”  and an all-access feature story on Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

BE editor Tennille Robinson was able to get a number of details on him regarding his estimated worth, most recent deals and how he’s managed to leverage his celebrity into a number of business ventures. 50’s all business in this story, no beef.  That's a surprise.  Read on for our exclusive first look at the cover and behind the scenes shots....

The cover shoot took place in Los Angeles, which is where 50 is currently based since he’s gotten more involved with acting and producing movies for his production company Cheetah Vision.  He's already started filming The Set Up with where he stars opposite Bruce Willis. And it's the first of a 10-picture deal backed by a $200 million fund financed by the New York City-based Hedge Fund Film Partners.  Nice.

Here's some behind the scenes pics from the L.A. shoot.  He's busy going down the Ice Cube lane of making millions directing and producing his own movies.  Say what you want about Fif and his sometimes arrogance and foolishness, dude is a beast on the business tip.

Earlier today, Nick Cannon got into the holiday spirit by handing out toys at a Build-a-Bear Workshop benefiting the Toys for Tots Foundation. Then he was asked by E! News to clear up the "twin" rumors  (he posted a Holiday card online for his fans and said he's thankful for "the new ADDITONS to his family") and Nick referred to his baby(ies) using a plural pronoun. For The Hollywood Reporter's 'Legends Issue' - 80th Anniversary - Sidney Poitier posed with Halle Berry representing the first African-Americans to win Oscars for best actor/actress.  Sidney for Lilies Of The Field (1964) and Halle for Monster's Ball (2002). They were shot by Peggy Sirota at Sidney's Beverly Hills home:

Halle commented in the issue about attempting to take baby Nahla to meet Mr. Porter.  Here's an excerpt:

One thing Sidney Poitier didn’t have in his leading-man heyday? Paparazzi. But on this December morning, Halle Berry, being Halle Berry, arrives at Poitier’s Beverly Hills home with her 2-year-old daughter Nahla — and four lensmen on her heels.
As they exit the car, Nahla sees the men and begins crying; the audience Berry wanted for her daughter with Poitier doesn’t happen, as Nahla is whisked away by a nanny.
“Sidney is part of our history,” says a disappointed Berry, who otherwise seems unfazed. “He’s a legend, and one day I knew she would thank me for allowing her to be in his presence.”
And what a mark he has made. It was a watershed moment in Hollywood when Poitier won the best actor Oscar for Lilies of the Field in 1963, becoming the first African American performer to do so. His victory, preceded by an Oscar nomination five years earlier for The Defiant Ones (1958), happened before Berry even was born. As a child, though, Berry eventually saw Lillies. “Wow. I was, even as a girl, madly in love,” she says. (To which Poitier jokes, “Now you tell me!”)

The legends issue hits newsstands nationwide Friday, Dec. 17.

Bad girl turned fashion maven mommy Nicole Richie told People.com that she'd always dreamed about getting married in a dress inspired by Princess Grace Kelly's iconic wedding gown.  And she wanted to have a live elephant on-site to bring good luck. And she did it.
On Dec. 11th, Nicole married longtime-boyfriend and the father of her two children, rockstar Joel Madden.  The uber private ceremony was held at the fab Beverly Hills home of her superstar father, Lionel Richie and officiated by Rev. Run.

It was truly a family affair with the couple's daughter Harlow, 2, as the flower girl and 15-month-old Sparrow was the ring-bearer.  Cute. I wonder if Lionel sang too.  Y'all know he would grease that jherri curl up any chance he gets...
The wedding tent was made to look like a French garden and the fab wedding dress was designed by Marchesa.  And if that wasn't enough, Nicole wore two other Marchesa dresses during the special day including a ball-gown skirt crafted from more than 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals. 
Breathtakingly gorgeous dress and she looked beautiful.  Congrats to the Maddens!
