adidas Originals LQC Sneaker

adidas debuts its LQC (Light Quality Comfort), a new sneaker design from the Originals camp. Making its premier at Sneaker Con this weekend, the kicks offer a new take on the brand’s heritage classics like the EQT. Combining a top grade suede upper with perforated patent leather, the quality and details in construction make the LQC a great example of what’s to come from several adidas concepts dropping throughout 2011. The LQC will be made available via Dr. Jays stores beginning March 23, 2011 as well as through Sneaker Con NYC

Philips Fidelio with SoundSphere

Earlier this month Philips combined two of its marquee product lines to create a sexy and convenient speaker system. The design itself ensures a full 360-degree projection of sound while the Philips Fidelio SoundSphere combines Apple’s Airplay technology for wireless ease when steaming from your iTunes. A release is slated for May with a suggested retail price of 799 EUR (approximately $1,120 USD).

Roberu “Pray For Japan” Wristband

Roberu, a leather factory based in Japan, is joining in the effort to bring as much assistance as possible to the disaster in Japan by releasing these handmade “Pray For Japan” wristbands. The unisex oil-dyed, genuine leather bands are adjustable and come in camel and black colors. With a price of only ¥500 (approximately $6 USD), all proceeds will be donated to benefit the Red Cross.

adidas is all in “all show” Video

In this promotional video for it’s “All In” campaign, adidas hosts a visual light show in Marseilles, France using the latest in 3D projection technology. With DJ Cut Killer on the turntables, a large crowd of over 1,000 gathers to watch as the world’s top athletes (including Teddy Riner) demonstrate their finesse while a clip of Justice’s new single, “Civilization”, plays in the background.

Baby Milo “RESCUE AND REBUILD” Charity Tee

Joining other brands in helping to raise funds for disaster assistance in Japan, BAPE has released this charity tee. Featuring the slogan “Rescue and Rebuild”, the white short-sleeve tee shirt features a graphic that depicts Baby Milo holding the Japanese flag. Proceeds from the sale of this tee shirt will be donated towards the disaster relief effort.

adidas Originals by Originals Kazuki Kuraishi x CLOT “KZKLOT” Superstar 80s

Based on the previous “KZKLOT” model, CLOT has teamed up again with adidas Originals by Originals Kazuki Kuraishi on this “KZKLOT” Superstar 80s style. As previewed through the latest issue of Felicity, the sneaker features a mesh upper in a white and metallic gold colorway with minimal branding and white stripes and laces. The style is available only at JUICE Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur.

Nike Sportswear Dunk High Premium “White Ice”

Coming in as part of a pack sharing the same similar “White Ice” theme, these Dunk High Premiums are the first of the lot to release from Nike Sportswear. The aesthetic is simple yet works extremely well together with a textured patent leather upper with an icy blue outsole. This latest iteration of the Y-3 Kazuhiri maintains its slim and sleek profile with the addition of some creeper-inspired elements. Going hand-in-hand with the trademark platform sole, creeper shoes have often included the use of thick D-rings for lacing purposes. While steps have been taken by pockets of society, more so than ever the world has adopted a finite and disposable approach to life. Many things are meant to be readily consumed and quickly disposed of soon after. With this in mind, a keen interest in this relationship developed together with Sam Taylor Wood as he looked to find something to counteract the disposable nature of photography and imagery. In 1851, wet plate photography (or the Collodion Process) was developed in which chemicals would work in tandem with glass plates laced with silver halides and gelatin. Air Jordan 2011 Georgetown & UNC

Jordan Brand offers us a look into two new colorways of the Air Jordan 2011, both PE editions for Georgetown and UNC (University of North Carolina). The kicks feature primarily white bases with leather uppers in each school’s color tones. Both will be worn by the collegiate basketball teams in this year’s NCAA Tournament, although a release is not certain at the moment. Stay tuned for further details as they come.

Kitsune x Quoddy Mocassin Loafer

Parisian brand Kitsune looks toward handmade footwear specialists Quoddy for production of a new loafer. Carrying all the classic Quoddy details, the shoes feature glove leather lining with hand-stitched moccasin style toes, Amazonian rubber camp outsoles and a bit of Kitsuné branding. Made in highly limited numbers, a few pairs of this new drop have been made available through End Clothing.

L.A. Reid OFFICIALLY Steps Down As President Of Def Jam

L.A. Reid has officially stepped down from his post as President of Def Jam. In a letter to his staff sent out today, he boasted how proud he is of his roster of talent, and says he has decided to leave his position.

An era is ending over at Def Jam as head honcho L.A. Reid is stepping down. We broke the story months ago, in addition to yesterday, that L.A. would be leaving his post. And now, he has made it official via a memo to his staff today:

“Great leaders are almost always great simplifiers, who can cut through
argument, debate and doubt, to offer a solution everybody can understand.”
“To my Island Def Jam family: After much consideration, I have decided to leave my position as Chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group.
“I have always thrived on growth and the next great challenge, and I look forward with much enthusiasm to what the future holds.
“I am extremely proud of our beautiful roster and all we have accomplished in my seven years with IDJ. We continue to have incredible success together with today’s most phenomenal superstars - Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey (she reportedly will follow L.A.), Kanye West, Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, The Killers, The-Dream, Chrisette Michele, Jeezy and Ludacris to name a few.
