LINK CLINK: Wesley Snipes Is In Jail + Young Jeezy's Manager Denies Arrest Reports

We have it on good word that Wesley Snipes is officially on lock down.  Get the deets inside plus find out how Young Jeezy's manager is trying to clear up those "false" arrest reports...

According to TMZ, Traci Billingsley, Chief Public Information Officer for the Bureau of Prisons, said,  "Wesley Snipes has self surrendered to the minimum security Federal Prison Camp at the Federal Correctional Institution McKean, in Bradford, Pennsylvania."
Another spokesperson for the B.O.P., Ed Ross, also confirmed, "Wesley Snipes has arrived and is at the prison facility in PA."
Mr. Nino Brown will be away for the next three years for tax evasion.  Remember that when April 15 rolls around for you.

We are so used to our rappers being bad boys with the law that it is hard to give them the benefit of doubt..  But apparently the blog world jumped the gun a few days ago when reporting Young Jeezy was arrested.  His manager says it didn't happen.
According to the rapper's manager Demetrius "Kinky B" Ellerbee, the reports of Jeezy's arrest in New Providence are false.
"It's not true," Demetrius said to MTV News, dismissing a report by Bahama-based newspaper The Tribune, who claimed Jeezy was booked before a show a few days ago.  According to reports, the rapper was simply "in the wrong place at the wrong time" when he was arrested and released, just before his performance at Club Luna, later that evening.
Police in the Bahamas have yet-to-reveal any more details about the alleged arrest.  SMH. Ok.  We will keep you posted as details are revealed.

BREAKING: Aretha Franklin Has Pancreatic Cancer

We reported a while back that the 68-year-old Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, had to cancel some shows due to an undisclosed health issue, now media reports have revealed that the issue is pancreatic cancer.  Find out the deets inside...

Earlier today, The Detroit News cited a source familiar Aretha's situation for the cancer diagnosis, an illness which the report pointed out has a poor prognosis.  And also, the Fox affiliate station in Detroit, where she calls home and her current residence, gave the same diagnosis citing a close relative as the source. Their report said she was doing "OK."

Guess Which Rappers Are In Trouble?? AGAIN !

Rappers are always in and out of legal trouble and we've got the latest on the drama with Jeezy, Jim Jones, and Nicki Minaj. Find out more when you read on...

Jim Jones pleaded guilty to assault charge resulting from a car crash on Tuesday. After the car crash, Jones attacked the driver, pushed him into the highway twice, and threw his car keys into oncoming traffic. Jones agreed to take a 10 week management course. He seemed to agree with the verdict tweeting, "Anger mngment was the result, smh. well duhhhh been needing tht."
Jones also said that it's best people focus on his positive community service, like a 12 week high school course that he teaches about the music industry.
Let's hope Jimmy, who's had a history of run-ins with the law, learns from his anger management classes.

Young Jeezy was arrested in the Bahamas over the weekend. No word on what the rapper did to cause his arrest yet.  But the streets have been buzzing saying weed is involved. Jeezy was slated to perform a concert there, but was taken into the police station instead. Reports say that Jeezy was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was arrested and released the same day, and later performed at a club.   Go figure.

Some government officials in Trinidad are heated about Nicki Minaj's recent concert in the country.  Nicki's not in trouble herslf, but the promoters of the Localise Itt Concert she was a part of, are. 
The government claims the island was overcharged for her performance. Out of the $825k budget for the show, Nicki and her entourage received close to $400k.  The event planners-- Daryl Braxton of D Project Records and Sport and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Roberts--also paid $60k for Nicki to stay at Hilton Hotel.
The government has now called for an official audit of the event organizers and the concert. The promoters claim that the expenses were justified because of the amount of exposure the country has received since it was featured on Nicki's new MTV documentary.  The government says that because of the expensive concert, there is no money left to hold community events such as a health fair and peace march.
Well that's a doozy.  But, to be fair, being mad at Nicki actually doesn't make sense.  She has her rider and requests just like any other artist, and it's up to the promoter if they want to pay it or not.  And the promoters did. So...

Though music insiders never expected one-hit wonder, Soulja Boy, to make it to three studio albums, the first week sales of his latest project may suggest the party's over.  Find out how much The DeAndre Way moved inside...

Many people are suggesting that the The DeAndre Way went womp womp its first week out.  The DeAndre Way album debuted on the Billboard Hot 200 chart at number 79 with 13,000 copies sold.  And though nobody sells units like they did in the late 90s, the 13,000 units sold by Soulja Boy his first week out is a flop by any standards.
And of course, the next single could be a blockbuster and make the album platinum, but, for now, it is what it is.  At least he has his collection of gold chains to be proud of.
In a recent interview with MTV, Soulja says he has spent about three million dollars in total on all of his jewels. Is it worth it?  DeAndre seems to think so saying,

“Nah man.  Gold is the best thing going, all the people that’s watching, honestly … all of my jewelry together … gold is where it’s at.”

I'm sure there are at least a few stock brokers who may agree.  But who knows. I wish someone would tell him to diversify his assets.  But...I guess it would be hard to rock a 4-story brownstone on-stage.  And impressing other people is the most important thing right?
