Typoe – Confetti Death

Miami-based Typoe created this insane piece earlier in the year titled Confetti Death. Produced from shards of spray paint caps, the confetti of color sees a splash through the mouth of a skull, juxtaposing quite nicely with the white wall it’s placed on. Confetti Death was just a snippet of a larger show highlighting the artist’s graffiti and fine artwork. A bit more of his work can be seen here.

Tupac “The Lost Tapes” Interview

After the FBI’s vault revealed documents regarding Tupac’s death, more never-before-released information on the iconic rapper has appeared online. This time, however, it comes in the shape of an interview with him during his time spent in prison at Clinton Correctional Facility in 1995. The interview is featured in a DVD entitled Tupac Uncensored and Uncut: The Lost Prison Tapes, which was released back in January on Amazon. However, all 44 minutes of the film have been made available for viewing in the three separate YouTube videos on this page. Read more about the fascinating piece below.
As Tupac’s interviewer announces, ‘Tupac, this interview is not about your trial, or your court appeals. It is about Tupac, the inner man, then, and now.’
Featuring an uncut and never-before-seen interview at the Clinton Correctional Facility, TUPAC UNCENSORED AND UNCUT: THE LOST PRISON TAPES presents a raw look into Tupac’s world, as the rapper riffs on topics ranging from his involvement with gang life to prisons in America to his relationship with his mother. What emerges is a moving self-portrait of an artist who sees himself as fundamentally misunderstood: He may have diagnosed thug life, but he didn’t invent it, and he is determined to uplift not destroy the black community.
Capturing the intensity and passion of a fierce talent, TUPAC UNCENSORED AND UNCUT: THE LOST PRISON TAPES offers a glimpse inside the mind of the enigmatic artist whose music is, in his own words, ‘all about life.’

Decide who rocked it best when you read on....

Beyonce saluted Nigerian political singer Fela Kuti for her cover.  So she rocked this gold metallic African-inspired Gucci dress for her spread, and rocked an updo with a hairpiece, along with dark nails.

Meanwhile, Naomi Campbell just rocked the same Gucci dress for her Vogue Japan cover.  She kept her hair straight and long with red nails to accentuate the gold.

Tyler Perry's "Madea's Big Happy Family" Is #2 With $25.7 Million

Tyler Perry fans supported his latest film Madea's Big Happy Family to the tune of $25.7 million dollars, but it wasn't enough to land him first place at the box office.  Get the deets inside....

Over Easter weekend, Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family made $25.7M during its debut weekend at the box office.  That landed the film in second place behind Rio, which made $26.8M, but there is a chance Tyler could pull ahead once all the sales are counted.

And while $25.7 million dollars is something to be proud of, The Washington Post notes that this is the first time one of Tyler's Madea films didn't open at number one and also it made less money its first week.   In 2006, Madea’s Family Reunion opened with $30 million, and in 2009,  Madea Goes to Jail debuted with $41 million.
He still brought in millions.  So it sounds like he's still WINNING to me.
